Sponsoring WCT2010

We’re really excited to announce Fused Network has come on board as a sponsor for WordCamp Toronto 2010. Fused Network sponsored the conference in 2008 and without their support there’s no way this conference would happen.

We’re also hoping to announce a title sponsor for this year’s WordCamp Toronto early next week.

Without sponsors there’s no way WCT would be able to offer tickets for $35. We truly thank them for their support.

Sponsoring WordCamp Toronto is a great way to reach the influential social media community in Toronto. Attendees realize they are getting much more value than they paid for thanks to the conferences sponsors. In turn, the sponsors receive quite a bit of “love” by way of heightened credibility in the community, increased traffic and continued word of mouth marketing.

There are several ways to sponsor WCT 2010. Contact Mathieu if you’d like to find out more. We’re particularly interested in sponsors who can provide prizes and those who would be interested in subsidizing the cost of tickets for students.

Your help may be needed in any of the following areas:

    • Registration
    • Swag station and other booths
    • “Ask Me” Information people
    • Floaters/Miscellaneous
    • ..and other opportunities

We are asking everyone to register first as an attendee and if you volunteer for 4 hours we will reimburse your $35 registration fee.

    Speaker Application

Thank you for your interest in speaking. We had a phenomenal response and have booked up all the spots. Even better news is all our speakers are great and we have a broad range of speakers for everyone’s palette.

Sessions are 30 minutes in length. We are interested in presenters who can speak about WordPress but also social media as a larger issue but with blogging at its core. A successful session is one where attendees can take away specific advice on how to make their blog better, whether it be increased security, best practices, building readership, etc. Attendees also like to hear from speakers who can pull blogging into the bigger picture of corporate strategy, brand building, etc.

Here are some of the topics we’d like to see at this year’s WordCamp. If you think you fit the bill, send in an application.

    • WordPress MU
    • E-Commerce integration
    • Branding
    • Idea generation for your blog
    • Working in a multi-user environment
    • Using WP for a company Web site
    • WordPress P2

    Welcome to WordCamp Toronto 2010

Are you interested in more than just volunteering? If so, we’d like to invite you to join the organizing committee. It’s not a real formal thing so don’t worry about dedicating several evenings every week to it, but we all have strengths and why not (and excuse the 1990s buzz word here) synergize. The sum really will be greater than the whole!
