Islamic Relief USA Holds Annual Skate for Syria in 10 Cities Across the U.S.

As Syria is plummeted with bombs and chemical warfare in a conflict which has lasted 7 years, children and families are in need of food, water, shelter, medical attention and supplies among other things such as clothing, shoes, hats and coats. The need is there whether they remain in their besieged country or they try to escape to somewhere less violent. People worldwide are coming together trying to help in many different ways, from donations and sponsor ships to special events. Islamic Relief USA is holding their Annual Skate for Syria this year to aid the desperate humanitarian crisis of the people of Syria.

This year 10 cities across the US are participating in the Annual Skate for Syria. The registration fee of $12 covers admission and skate rental and goes to provide essential items and disaster response relief. Cities holding the Skate for Syria benefit are Rockville, MD at the Rockville Ice Arena on March 3rd, Louisville, KY at the Iceland Sports Complex on March 9th, Wilmington, DE at the Skating Club of Wilmington on March 10th, Antioch, TN at the Ford Ice Center on March 16th and Montclair, NJ at the Clary Anderson Arena on March 23rd. Other venues and dates to take part in the skating program are Oak Lawn, IL at the Oak Lawn Ice Arena on March 24th, Bloomfield Hills, MI at the Detroit Skating Club on March 24th, Raleigh, NC at the Jellybeans Super Skate Center of Cary on March 25th and Reston, VA at the Skatequest on April 4th. It is a non-profit 501 humanitarian agency and a member of the Islamic Relief Worldwide group of organizations and works in 40 countries. A few of the countries include Afghanistan, Chechnya, India, Iraq, Jordan, Macedonia, Myanmar, South Africa and the South Sudan.
